You’ll be able to wander inside S E T U P’s vast stage-like showcases of lighting design. So what’s going to be on show inside this aircraft hanger of a gallery? Well – among many others – you’ll find digital artists like Robert Henke and 404.zero, who use algorithmically generated images and code based art to make large-scale installations that sync with booming sound & music. It’s 55,000 square feet of industrial space, so quite understandably, the first art exhibition to go on show there is going to make use of that scale in interesting ways. And The Beams, if you don’t know it, is all-caps, underlined, italicised, HUGE. Opening next month, Thin Air is making its way into The Beams over in the Royal Docks, just across the river from Greenwich.
